The Polish version of these rules is binding; this translation is provided for convenience.
1. General
- These rules cover prizes in official Warp Drive tournaments and events (“Events”) run on warp-drive.org, in the Discord bot and on the Warp Drive game servers.
- The organizer of Events and funder of the prizes is the operator of the Service named in the Terms of service, unless the Tournament card names another funder (e.g. a partner or sponsor) – then we hand out the prizes on their behalf or say who does.
- Every Event with prizes has a Tournament card published before sign-ups open (on the tournament page). The card lists the prizes and details; anything it does not cover is governed by these rules, then by the Terms of service and the Privacy policy.
- Community tournaments (created by Discord servers) are not our Events. Their organizer alone is responsible for their prizes – we only provide the tools. Exception: in-game items an organizer gives from their own Warp Drive inventory reach the winners under section 4.
2. Taking part and winning a prize
- Taking part is free and requires no purchase. Warp Plus, Warp Pro, Cores and Warp Market items do not improve your chances. Results depend only on players’ skill in matches – Events are not games of chance, bets or lotteries.
- You can receive a prize if you have a Warp Drive account linked with Discord and Minecraft (Java) as required by the Tournament card, finished in a prize place in the final results, followed the Terms of service, fair play rules and Event rules, and gave us the details needed to deliver the prize in time (section 5).
- One person – one account. Playing on someone else’s account, sharing an account, using several accounts, fixing results, losing on purpose, boosting and using forbidden programs or modifications lead to disqualification and loss of the prize (also after it was handed out – we may then ask for it back).
- Members of the Warp Drive team (owner, administrators, moderators) and people who prepared the Event can play but cannot win money or physical prizes in it – their prize place passes to the next player.
- Minors. Events are open to people who meet Discord’s minimum age (13, or higher where local law requires). A person under 18 receives a money or physical prize with the consent of a parent or legal guardian – we may ask for the guardian’s statement and hand the prize to the guardian’s bank account or address. In-game prizes go to the winner’s account without extra consent.
3. Results and reports
- Results are announced on the Event page and on the official Warp Drive Discord server.
- Reports about matches (e.g. suspected cheating, a server fault) can be made in the game (
/zglos), on the site or at [email protected] within 48 hours of the end of the Event. - While a report is being reviewed – no longer than 30 days – we may hold back the prize of the person it concerns. If a violation is confirmed, the prize passes to the next player in the results unless the Tournament card says otherwise.
- If a match cannot be played for technical reasons, we may replay it or settle it under the Event rules (e.g. a walkover for not showing up).
4. Types of prizes
- Money – in Polish złoty (PLN), by bank transfer to the account given by the winner (or their guardian). For winners abroad we may use another method agreed by e-mail; currency conversion costs charged by the winner’s bank are borne by the winner. We cover the cost of domestic transfers.
- Physical prizes – shipped at our cost to an address in Poland given by the winner (elsewhere in the EU if the Tournament card says so). A prize damaged in transit is replaced if reported within 7 days of delivery. Any manufacturer’s warranty applies on the manufacturer’s terms.
- In-game prizes – Cores ◆, skins, crates, keys, badges and other Warp Drive items – go to the winner’s Warp Drive account (Inventory, Cores balance). The Terms of service apply: they have no money value, Cores can never be cashed out or exchanged for money, and items can be sold and bought only on Warp Market under its rules. Items and Cores obtained against the rules may be taken back.
- Prizes cannot be swapped for other prizes or their money value, and the right to a prize cannot be transferred. At the winner’s request we may replace a physical prize that cannot be delivered with another of equal or higher value.
- Values of physical prizes in the Tournament card are approximate (market price).
5. Handing out prizes
- We contact the winner by a Discord message or in the WD inbox on the site within 7 days of the final results. We write only from official Warp Drive accounts and never ask for passwords, codes or payments.
- The winner gives the details needed within 14 days of our message: for money – the account holder’s name and account number (IBAN); for physical prizes – name, delivery address and phone number for the courier; where tax law requires – details needed to settle the tax (section 6); a minor – also the guardian’s statement.
- We may confirm the winner’s identity by asking for a message from the linked Discord or Minecraft account.
- Prizes are handed out within the time given in the Tournament card, otherwise within 14 days of receiving complete details. In-game prizes reach the account within 14 days of the results.
- If the winner does not give the details in time, refuses the prize or does not meet section 2, the right to the prize expires. The prize passes to the next player or stays with us (by default: it stays with us and may go into the prizes of a later Event), as the Tournament card says.
6. Taxes
Prizes may be subject to income tax under Polish law. Where the law requires us to collect and pay the tax on a prize, we do so before handing it out; the Tournament card may provide an additional money prize equal to that tax, which then goes to the tax and is not paid to the winner. Otherwise any tax obligation lies with the winner; on request we confirm in writing the type, value and date of the prize.
7. Changes to prizes and cancelled Events
- We may increase the prizes or add new ones at any time.
- Prizes may be reduced or changed for the worse only before sign-ups open, if the Event does not reach the minimum number of participants given in the Tournament card, or because of force majeure (e.g. a long server outage). We announce such changes on the Event page and on Discord.
- A cancelled Event gives no right to prizes or compensation.
8. Personal data
We process the details given for a prize only to hand it out and handle complaints (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR), to meet tax and accounting duties (Art. 6(1)(c)) and to establish or defend claims (Art. 6(1)(f)). We keep them until the prize is handed out and any complaint is closed, and tax documents for as long as tax law requires (as a rule 5 years from the end of the tax year). They go only to those needed to deliver the prize (bank, courier or post) and to authorities entitled by law. Your nickname and place are public as part of the results; we do not publish names or addresses. More in the Privacy policy.
9. Complaints
Complaints about prizes can be sent to [email protected] within 30 days of the day the prize was due. Include your nickname, the Event name and a description; we reply within 14 days. These rules do not limit rights you have under mandatory law, including consumer rights.
10. Final provisions
- These rules apply from their publication on warp-drive.org. Changes do not affect Events whose sign-ups are already open, unless they are more favourable to participants.
- Warp Drive is not affiliated with Mojang Studios, Microsoft or Discord Inc.; Events are not organized, sponsored or endorsed by them.
Tournament card
Every official Event with prizes shows a card on its tournament page with: the name and funder of the prizes, dates of sign-ups and matches, mode and format, entry requirements, the minimum number of participants, prizes for each place (type and value), how and when they are handed out, how tax is handled, what happens to an unclaimed prize, the shipping region for physical prizes and any special rules.
